Visit the setting of The Sound of Music and sail down the Danube
The hills are alive with the sound of… cruising the Danube this autumn. And who better to join you than the cast of Julie Madly Deeply, the acclaimed West End act that offers a cheeky and affectionate look at the life of national treasure Dame Julie Andrews.
You will enjoy a special live cabaret performance with all the old classics from The Sound Of Music, Mary Poppins and My Fair Lady, receive a signed album and take part in a meet-and-greet with the star of the show, Sarah-Louise Young.
Your trip starts with a relaxing hotel break in picturesque Passau on the Austrian border, known as the Three Rivers City. Look out for the onion-shaped domes of St Stephen's Cathedral in the old town, which is full of charming Baroque architecture.
You will then set sail down the majestic Danube for four nights on the lovely A-ROSA DONNA, taking in two capital cities (Vienna and Bratislava), the beautiful Wachau Valley, Linz and Salzburg.
All of your meals and drinks (including sparkling wines and cocktails) are included**, as are afternoon tea and snacks, the use of the sauna, gym and top-deck heated swimming pool, all onboard entertainment, as well as your flights and transfers.
So channel your inner Andrews and 'Go-with-me-and-see-Julie-Go! Just Go!'

Day3Wachau Valley, Vienna, Julie Madly Deeply performanceVienna, Austria
Pass the stunning Wachau Valley this morning, arriving in Vienna in the afternoon, which will be a real highlight of your Danube cruise. The locals sound as though they are singing when they speak here in Vienna, and it is customary for certain business owners to address their regular customers with their full title. With its wealth of museums, galleries, palaces and castles, plus the state opera and many theatres, the city enjoys a lively cultural scene all year-round. The Viennese are proud of their city - and rightly so!
This evening, we are joined by 'Julie, Madly, Deeply' for a cheeky and affectionate performance looking at the life of Dame Julie Andrews with stories, anecdotes and, of course, legendary songs from Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music and more. There will be an opportunity to meet the cast after the show, where they will be happy to sign your included album.
This morning we spend some time in Slovakia's capital, Bratislava. Situated exactly at the point where the country meets Austria and Hungary, Bratislava is the only capital city in the world that borders more than one neighbouring country. Due to its location, Bratislava has been an ethnic melting pot since ancient times. This influence can be seen in every corner of the city. Cultures meet and merge together. The streets of the old town - lined with well-preserved baroque and rococo city palaces - are filled with the sound of people speaking different languages. And it almost seems as though the music of the Habsburg era still echoes through the city.
This afternoon, we arrive at Linz. Your Danube cruise is the perfect opportunity to get to know the Austrian city. It offers an exciting mix of cultural attractions and true works of art. You'll discover a modern, cosmopolitan city whose diversity, design and creativity really make it stand out. And no visit to Linz would be complete without a trip to a cafe to sample its specialities, such as the famous Linzer Torte.
Baroque facades, numerous churches and, at the centre, the river. As you can see, it's possible to describe Linz, Austria's largest port city, in a single sentence. But that would be doing it an injustice, since there's a whole lot more to Linz than buildings and water. In recent years, this former industrial hub has morphed into a European cultural stronghold. No matter whether it's theatre, cinema, art or music, there's both great demand and great support for culture here. The city also provides magnificent views - particularly in the evening - from the pilgrimage church on the Pöstlingberg hill.
