Take a tour of the island’s beautiful gardens and see the Flower Festival with Christine Walkden, expert presenter and gardener

The tiny volcanic island of Madeira is a subtropical paradise, with world-famous gardens, stunning coastlines and majestic peaks to explore; in fact it's known as 'the floating garden of the Atlantic'.

This tailor-made trip coincides with the island's Flower Festival. You'll take in the horticultural highlights of Madeira in the company of a very special guest - horticulturist and presenter, Christine Walkden. Christine will join you at the festival, host an evening talk and come along to visit some of the island's stunning gardens with you.

You'll see a huge number of exotic species on this eight-day tour, including orchids at Palheiro Gardens and vibrant blooms at the Monte. You'll also take in the Funchal Botanical Gardens, the Garden of Quinta do Lago and the Quinta do Arco Rose Garden.

Tuesday is dedicated to absorbing the sights, scents and sounds of the Madeira Flower Festival. Roam the charming streets of Funchal and admire the floral floats and parades as the island celebrates the beauty of flowers and plants.

Your base for the trip is Hotel Enotel Magnólia in the heart of Funchal, the island's capital Funchal - so you're perfectly placed to enjoy the flower festival's magical atmosphere. When you're done with a busy day of exploring you can relax in the bar, gym, sauna or one of the hotel's two swimming pools.
